Photography Course
Designed and delivered an internal photography training program for non-specialist camera operators, improving visual decision-making and autonomy during shoots.
these courses were during my period working for “veepee” - barcelona, 2019-2020.
CASE STUDY
Optimizing E-commerce Visual Production Through Automation
E-commerce photo studio operations were affected by frequent technical incidents and inconsistent workflows, leading to production delays and variability in visual output quality.
Additionally, camera operators came from non-photographic backgrounds, which limited their ability to apply critical visual judgment during production, increasing dependency on reactive technical support.
These issues impacted efficiency, consistency, and scalability of e-commerce content production across teams in Spain and France.
My objective was:
Improve operational stability and visual production quality by:
reducing recurring technical incidents
increasing autonomy and critical thinking of camera operators
improving consistency in e-commerce visual output
enhancing cross-team efficiency between production and technical support
The Approach:
Took a combined IT + creative operations approach to address both technical failures and skill gaps in production teams.
Conducted analysis of recurring technical incidents to identify root causes and patterns
Designed a structured classification system of operational failures affecting studio performance
Developed an automated Excel-based decision system to support fast troubleshooting and resolution
Identified that part of the problem was not only technical, but also lack of photographic understanding among operators
Designed and delivered a fundamental photography training program for camera operators with no prior experience
Focused the training on visual thinking, exposure, framing, and critical decision-making during shoots to improve autonomy and reduce errors
The Execution
Implemented automated incident resolution system for studio operations
Standardized troubleshooting workflows across production scenarios
Designed and delivered internal photography training sessions for camera operators
Enabled teams to apply basic photographic principles to real production scenarios
Collaborated with international teams to align operational standards and reduce cross-location inconsistencies
Impact / Results
Reduced production incidents by 60%, improving operational efficiency
Increased autonomy and decision-making capacity of camera operators
Improved consistency and quality of e-commerce visual output
Reduced dependency on technical intervention during shoots
Contributed to the identification of a long-standing technical issue affecting both Spain and France operations (5+ years unresolved)
Strengthened alignment between technical operations and creative production needs
